Aimbots:

Aimbots are downloaded programs, which you copy into your Q3 folder. They contain manipulated files or new files of the original program. They make it unnecessary to aim to a target. If someone uses an aimbot excessively you can find out about its usage, carefully used it stays undetected.

Wallhacks:

Change the textures of the walls in a way that you can shoot you opponents before you have actually seen them. For example if an opponent stand behind a wall and you can already see him, it is easy to shot a grenade over the wall to score.

Communities and turnamet managers react critically towards cheating. One has to define where cheating starts. Some small scripts simplify the game but make it also unfair against the others. Item-timimg script show when in a level an item is available. This is of advantage for the team to get the position secured. Long discussion expected there is a big individuality concerning the usage. Good or bad, who knows. It is similar to the doping discussion in other sports.
